Garlicky Greengo Hot Sauce Review

Hello fellow Chili Heads and Foodies!

It’s a great and exciting day in Northern California. The “Big Man” upstairs has finally deemed us worthy of some life nurturing precipitation. We have not seen rain this winter season up to this point and I think he is making up for lost time. Right now as I type, the rain is falling to such a degree, that if I would step outside, my only hope of surviving would be if I suddenly grew a pair of gills out the side of my neck. Needless to say, stepping outside isn’t going to happen, so I find myself wanting to brag on a new line of sauces that I have recently received. For those of us that chase unique culinary delights and peruse isles of pallet incinerating spices/sauces, this review is for you! So cash in that investment portfolio, dump out the change drawer, sell off the family dog and get ready to make a purchase!

I am always looking for a product that is just a little different from the rest. After consuming some of the hottest peppers and sauces in the world, I have found that for me, the thrill of the chase is not so much how much “heat” can I handle, but how much “flavor” can a chef provide. Similar to an alcoholic longingly gazing inside his liquor bottle for a glimpse of a hinted moment of happiness, I can can’t help but shake my head when I lift this new product and gaze fondly at the contents.

Gently nestled in a six ounce flask bottle lie’s a sauce that screams of flavor and freshness. Thick, chunky, boasting of spice and flavor this sauce pours out slowly and spreads over my pizza like a comforting blanket. It transforms a cheap, flavorless delivered pizza to something that I just can’t seem to get enough of. I’d like to introduce a spicy family-made product that has traveled all the way from the heart of Texas…

Hot Line Pepper Products

Presents…

Garlicky Greengo
A Jalapeno and Garlic Sauce

This sauce has a nice soothing green appearance that consists of fire roasted Jalapeno Chiles, Tomatillos, garlic and more. Yum! If you like thin, watery, vinegar flavor sauces this one may not be for you.  But! If it’s the thick, chunky, hearty, almost salsa in appearance…you will like this one. By the appearance of seeds I can tell this was made with pepper flavor in mind. They say that due to the all-natural ingrediants and the fire roasted peppers you will begin to “Yearn for the burn!” I have to agree! My wife, son, and I finished off almost ½ a bottle on that pizza I previously mentioned.

Cracking the lid, I take a deep breath as I bring the bottle to my nose inhaling its goodness. Garlicky coolness invades my sinuses and the sweet smell of the jalapeños invites me to pour without caution. This sauce is one of their medium heat hot sauces. They have several others that are all-natural and provide incinerating heat that the most truly dedicated chili head can appreciate.  I found that unlike extract sauces this product provides more flavor than heat. I could immediately taste the spices and it didn’t mask the flavor of the pizza. The heat was not instant but gradually built as I ate. By the time I was full I had a nice spicy burn going. Even my six-year-old son tried some and loved it! I also tried it on eggs and cheese and that was very good. I mixed it into hummus and blended it with some Jolokia puree and found the flavor of the sauce was not as apparent. More is definitely better with this sauce. If you like sweet, garlic flavored medium heat sauce then this one you won’t be able to set down.

So in conclusion, I would say that I have no regrets for buying this sauce! The price was fair. The bottle size is generous. For a Medium heat sauce, the flavor was very good and I would recommend this to family and friends. I love the thick homemade consistency. I can only hope as it enters the world of commercial production that it only gets better!
